How Auto Mechanics Can Benefit from Having a Website

Author: James Hrenak

Owning a website assists mechanics just like any other business. A website allows a mechanic or mechanic business to reach out to their customers 24/7 with information about their establishment and services.

It’s like hiring an assistant to work 24 hours a day that can welcome customers and provide productive means of converting new visitors into leads.  The only difference is you don’t have to pay this assistant every week. It simply continues to work away, day and night, with no need for sleep or breaks.

For a mechanic, a website can provide general information about their establishment such as business hours, services, location(s), contact options, images depicting the work and coupons.

Or…it could be kicked up a notch and provide much more to the customer by offering to:

  • book appointments
  • view bios of individuals mechanics
  • offer daily maintenance tips and/or articles
  • maintenance reminders
  • average time estimate calculators
  • customer testimonials/recommendations
  • recall announcements
  • and more

What if your mechanic business had the capability to keep track of customer repairs online, and notify customers by email about recommendations to their vehicles (i.e., oil change or tune-up). This would heavily promote return customers and give you an advantage over the competition. This idea was recently brought to us by a colleague and we agreed that this would be a wonderful option.  This option could be yours.

For some, these options could be perfect, and some may prefer the more basic profile-type approach. Regardless, a website benefits every business and is a mandatory item for those looking to evolve with their customers (and not get left behind).
